My shadow

Slam. Door closes.
Leave me
Why are you here?
I want to be alone
She whispers as tears trickle down her cheeks
A mix of sweet & salty
Tears of anger & sadness
I don’t want to see you
You stand in my shadow
I turn around and you’re always there
Waiting
For what?
What are you waiting for?
She opens the door to see him starring.
His little head tilts to the side
His little tail starts to wag
His little body sits there…waiting.
For her tears to melt away
For her eyes to soften
For her breath to deepen
For her heart to ope
She leans down and he moves forward
Nestling his little head on her thigh
She let’s out a deep sigh and smiles.
I know what you want…the same thing as me.
