She Remembers

She remembers
Forged in fire and anger
Swallowing water, current taking her deeper
Held by the soil, like a snake nestled in her coil...
She remembers
Torn by the fear of letting go and the desire to go with the flow
Pegged to the bed by her lover cradling her head under the cover
Swimming naked underneath the full moon, liking chocolate from a spoon
She remembers
The ache in her neck from the weight on her shoulders
The tears in her eyes from those who could not meet her
The sound of her Soul, muffled and undercover
She remembers
The longing for Him left a mark on her lips
The longing for Home hidden deep in her bones
The longing for Love found not in the sky above but within the silence of her own heart
Distant geese take flight as the crickets serenade us good night
And she awakes to remember
The magic & mystery that lives within Her.
